Now back to the main issue which is about winter. It’s January and winter is already here (minus the snow..I’d freak out if jack frost came knocking at my door!)
Weeell Cairo did snow for a bit last year but I was NOT happy! The housings here are not built for snow so it’s freakishly cold. Sometimes your so-called fortress of warmth is colder than the harsh harsh world outside. Not helping!! I was all wrapped up like a human burrito throughout the day. I have had my share with snowy places and I do enjoy it for all of its lovely scenery, the purity of the ground covered in soft fluffy white cotton candies, rosy red cheeks (which look ahmaazing in photos xD) snowball, snowmans and snow angels, but I don’t know if my flat here could handle that! Last year the walls cracked and rain seeped through them (There was a bit of a hailstorm drama and my housemates and I spent the whole night draining water out of our flat..yes, it came through the doors, roof, and flooded our poor little place up. It was around midnight and while Cinderella was out there contemplating whether to leave or stay with her Prince Charming, I was mopping the floor like a dedicated little janitor. Joy).

I love my flat and especially Cairo to bits. I really do, but sometimes, I wish they could improve their housing system here. It frustrates me a lot. Not to mention the lack of internal heating! Makes me wonder, if we're shivering like mad dogs inside our own home, what about those hobos outside? It is cold, but when I think of them, sleeping with just a single layer of clothes and one blanket (or even none), is it right for us to complain? *sigh* Be grateful, and say Alhamdulillah.
So, yeah! Winter! Compared to summer, winter is lovelier. You do not sweat. There’d be no sweat patch which looks horrible..and not to mention the smell.. phheeeeyoouuwwwh (Have no idea how to make that sound into words). In winter, you get to wear different types of footwear, trench coat, winter coat, scarves, layers of clothing without having to consider getting too warm which is simply divine. On the other hand, the ice-cold water that touch your skin while performing fajr ablution give you spasms so bad you feel like you're having seizures! And those bladder muscles have gotten so strong from all that to-drink-or-not-to-drink, to-wait-til-you're-home-or-not-to-wait drama, they are now the organ version of Arnold Schwarzenegger. So...do I love winter? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know.
